St Peter's Sea Scouts
Welcome to the website of St Peter's Sea Scouts!
The aim of our Group is to ensure that our youth get the greatest possible enjoyment and benefit from their involvement. The Group has four sections:
Kea Scouts (Kea Club) Years 1-3
Cub Scouts (Cub Pack) Years 4-6
Scouts (Scout Troop) Years 7-10
Venturer Scouts (Venturer Unit) Years 10-13
Each section organises its own programme. As the youth move up through the sections there is an introductory process to help make the transition. Emphasis is placed on the Group being a ‘family’ rather than separate sections.
St Peter's is a sea scout group which includes rowing in a cutter, sailing in a cutter and sunbursts and canoeing, so water activities and camping and other adventurous activities undertaken by the youth involve elements of ‘managed risk’. (Note: Water based activities are mainly undertaken by Scouts and Venturers on the Hamilton lake).
Activities are made enjoyable and as safe as practicable by following Scouts New Zealand requirements as to equipment, leader experience, training and procedures.
Check out the latest St Peter's newsletter for more info on what the group as been getting up to!
